SQUEE + Rendering Issues

Highlight of my day: getting accepted to :iconvueport:.

Yes, hello, I am a total dork. But it works for me. :D

Cranking techno while running errands sure didn't hurt my morning either, nor did the first part of the next Love & Honor chapter showing up in my inbox this morning.

I'm REALLY excited about this next chapter, :iconsindon: is doing a kick ass job so far, and can't wait to see how he works the rest. I've got to get the image for that next chapter done, provided Daz will quit crashing on me whenever I try to render it. Mmm, fun. So far, I can get it to render with just UberEnvironment, but as soon as I add in spotlights, it crashes as soon as it starts to calculate the render. I've stripped every extra item out of there, and have even tried rendering without hair. No go. May take out UberEnvironment and put it back in, seeing if a fresh one will help, since this one was loaded with a character scene that I dropped in there. Yes, yes, YES, I know... I need to get them each saved as INJ's and MAT poses. Also going to test with JUST spotlights, though it seems one spot light has 104 images to optimize, but it WILL render. WTF? Time to go spend some time with Google, I guess. I really need to switch over to Poser... :sigh:.

Now to figure out what the hell is going wrong. Except... I should really be doing my homework. ;)

Catch Up?

Ouch - two days behind on DeReMo. :ashamed:

In my defense, I've been sleeping almost ever spare minute I can for the past two days. For some reason I am BEYOND tired right now and just can't catch up. (I even fell asleep in my chair a few times, and one night I fell asleep before even getting out of my jeans and tshirt.) I don't know why I'm so tired, but gah, I am.

Time to do some catching up I think. On more than just renders... housework needs catching up on too.

DeReMo - December Rendering Month

So I've challenged myself to do one completely new render a day for each day in December. It can be WIP quality, it can be finished, whatever - as long as it's a new scene each day.

I'm on Day 4 so far and it's been a stretch for me to do. I'm learning to work faster though, and it's a GREAT way to get those ideas bouncing around in my head down in rough draft form before I forget them.

Anyone care to join me for the rest of December 2009 for DeReMo? ;)

New Stuffs

I'm learning Vue 7. Holy cow. Just holy cow... and maybe that I'm having way too much fun with godrays and PAINTING terrain. SQUEE! I am, however, finding myself wishing for a better computer so renders don't take so blasted long. I'm sure I could drop settings, but then things don't look pretty. I'll have to play around with settings once this Mountain render finishes.

I'm supposed to be learning Maya. I'm making bits of progress, tiny bits. I'd make more if, ya know, I'd actually work with the program more than an hour every other day.

I've been playing over on Renderosity a lot more. I rather like the whole one image a day limit, though not so fond of the small (to me) image size limit. More than the image limit, I like the attention over there. Which I guess is due to the image limit - I don't get buried as quickly there, so get a bit more exposure. It's nice knowing that hey, you don't HAVE to have a naked chick front and center for it to be worth looking at. (Though, hey... I've got one or two of those too, nothing wrong with them at all. Partial to the naked men myself though. *fans self*)

I think I'm gonna go jump in the tub with my book. It's better than staring at the Mountain render that never ends. *grins*

Unhappy Camping

Journal Entry: Wed Oct 28, 2009, 2:23 PM

Having to reinstall Daz Studio. Fourth time. Trying to get pwSurface 2 to work. It's not working. So trying the suggested fixes. Seems to cause more issues than fixed.

Two of my closest friends in the hospital, totally unrelated.

Phone died, had to replace it.

Wish I was a happier camper.
